Recording a Single!

So when I arrived in Alicante, Mate told me, “I found a very affordable recording studio in Benidorm! Do you want to check it out?”

Well, yeah!

We made an appointment to meet with the owner and engineer, Rafa. He took the time to join us for coffee and then give us a tour of his sophisticated and well-appointed studio [COUNTRYMETAL PRODUCCIONES], answering all our questions and even letting me try out his drum kit.

His rates were VERY affordable (35 Euro/hour) and he had a professional drummer who would work with me for 50 Euro/song!

Since we were in town anyway we went to check out his regular gig with his girlfriend Monica at the Western Saloon –

Damn! They were amazing!!! Rafa is a true professional musician – an amazing singer and guitarist!

I pulled the trigger and we spent ~14 hours over the next week recording and mixing 2 songs (Rafa only let me pay for 12 hours though).

Our drummer, Xandy, was fantastic!!!

We recorded two tracks for a traditional “single” (even though they are only completed to DEMO level – my idea is to mock up the album I want to record with demo tracks before moving into actual production).

Both tracks are recorded and mixed, and I will post them here soon (WordPress is having issues today).
